One of my favorite shows that took LA Fashion week by storm recently was the innovative Day to Night Fashion Show. This well organized show brought a wide variety of the season’s ready-to-wear options to the forefront. From casual wear to red carpet ready evening wear and everything in between including resort wear that really heated up West coast style. Celebrities in attendance were Mercedes Javid, the popular reality show, The Shahs of Sunset, Clippers player Deandre Jordan, NFL Wide receiver Dale Moss, and Alexis Bellino were are stylin’ to see the eclectic collections make their dramatic debut on the iconic staircase at the W Hollywood.

The first designer to showcase her clothes on the runway was the super stylish and popular Single by Galina Sobolev. As always, single utilized a wide range of bright colors and beautiful and feminine floral designs. Also featured were her iconic and flattering jumpsuits.

I just want to thank Parker-Whitaker Productions. They are an incredible production team that put this event together and it was my pride and joy to partner up with Dress for Success. It’s a great non-profit organization that strives to empower women, which is so important,” said Sobolev.

The next line was Sea of Pearls with their unique pairing of casual but chic tees and tops worn with sequined shorts and glittery long skirts. What I like about this line is that it totally gets California’s casual style, but ups it many notches with all the sparkle and shine. Superstar model Naima Mora of America’s Next Top Model strutted the catwalk.

The third designer on the runway was whimsical FBF by Checka. What I like about Francesca Skwark’s line was that there were professional clothes for the office as well as fun clothes for a night owl.

JHaus was up next and their displayed their American-made premium denim designs. It was cool to see an upscale denim line, because as well as know, LA is a denim culture in terms of fashion. Angelenos like their style to be casually stylish and this line did just that.

Creative young designer Bri Seeley brought some truly feminine and flowy gowns to the runway that could easily take center stage during awards season. Alexis Bellino, star of Real Housewives of Orange County, sashayed down the runway as the opening and finale.

The Chrysalis Collection was really me taking what worked about my brand and refining it,” said an enthusiastic Seeley. “I rebranded the company along with the launch of this collection including a new logo, new motto, and new website.” Seeley added,”It was time for me to step into a more luxurious and professional space – and the feedback that I received is that it seemed to work! The collection ended up in the pages of WWD and on the cover of Apparel News!”

Shawl Dawls showcased their beautiful convertible shawls in the courtyard of the hotel. Other brands that were showcased in that area were Jeans by Jhaus, jewelry by Livre Brune, and Sara Horne.

It so nice to see all these wonderful people in the fashion world. There’s a great energy here at the W and I really like the indoor/outdoor space,” said Horne.

How apropos of Day to Night to have happily partnered with Dress for Success and supported the tireless work they do for disadvantaged women in need of new clothes all over the world to have proper clothes for the workplace. Susan Leibsohn of Dress for Success spoke to guests about the incredible work her organization is doing for women in the workplace. The mission of Dress for Success is to promote the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and the career development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Guests ranging from celebrities to fashion bloggers and LA fashionistas were beautified by Day to Night makeup sponsor The Organic Face, by Noreen Diani. They lined up in droves for a chance to try out their revolutionary 100% chemical free natural organic skincare and game-changing cosmetics. esNAIL was also a part of this pop-up glam squad with a luxury nail bar for guests to enjoy nail services ranging standard manicures to the ever popular and sturdy yet stylish gel manicures. TATRATEA provided tasty beverages to guests on arrival as well as a range of TATRATEA spirits and cocktails inside the event. Peroni Nastro Azzurro provided some elegant alcoholic beverages and illy issimo provided their wonderfully rich and robust RTD coffee beverages in a variety of flavors to keep the fashion energy up!
