The poké craze continues to sweep over Southern California with the newest Sweetfin Poke opening in Westwood on Tuesday, February 7th. The Experience Magazine stopped by and chatted with Chef Stephen. He was on hand making sure that each bowl of  poké was created with the care and love that a gourmet bowl of poké should receive.

The location of the newest Sweetfin Poké is in the Village at Westwood.  Stephen Valdez manages the store while Chef Makhtar Diop runs the kitchen with his many years of expertise. UCLA co-eds were eager to try the latest Japanese-Hawaiian fusion craze. There is no better pace than Sweetfin to do that.
We came to sample the vegan TK BOWL. It has braised daikon, chile oil, cilantro, avocado, crsipy garlic, napa cabbage and blistered fresno chile. This bowl is a collaboration between Sweetfin Poké and THUG Kitchen. Twenty percent of the proceeds go to a non profit that supports healthy eating, which is auspicious.

To remain vegan, we had to go with a kale base instead of the noodles, which have a mayonnaise dressing. The TK bowl is full of flavor. The kale base enhances the flavor of the garlic and the avocado. This vegan dish was very popular and the location filled up with the hungry people of Westwood.

We also tried the Hibisucus lemonade which was unsweetened, caffeine free and delicious. Sweetfin Poké had taro chips to go with your poké bowl or gourmet popcorn. The popcorn was out of this world.
Stop by a Sweetfin Poké near you. There are locations open all over Los Angeles with one in Santa Monica and the Valley.
