On Thursday May 29 THE EXPERIENCE was invited to attend a media dinner at the restaurant. It is in front of new iPic theater on Wilshire Blvd., just east of Westwood Blvd.
The setting in the restaurant is very beautiful with very artistic woodwork throughout the establishment. There is a very relaxing feeling as soon as you enter and it only gets better once you sit down.
The pre dinner cocktail was an under the Tuscan sun martini, very refreshing and off to a great start.
For the starter a Ferrari Bella Luce, White Blend, Sonoma County/2012. This was my favorite for the evening.
A very large seafood platter was brought out with oysters, huge pieces of crab with other seafood. This went perfectly with the white blend.
For the first course there was bloomsdale spinach, white poached warren pears and braised radish that was served with Robert Sinskey ‘Los Carneros’, Pinot Noir, Napa Valley/2010. The chef made a dressing that brought out all the flavors to open up the palette for the opener.
Main Course, Le Volte Dell’Ornellaia, Super Tuscan,Toscana/2011 Pan seared Scottish Salmon, p.e.i. mussels, manila clams, gulf shrimp, melted leeks, tomato broth. The Salmon was seared to perfection and the broth was delightful! A sautéed broccolini
onion jam, and salsa verde was also served with the main course.
For dessert there was Meletti Amaro, Torta di Cioccolato, Panna Cotta, and Tiramisu.
GRILLED SPANISH OCTOPUS (L) , LINGUINE with Clams (R)
ORECCHIETTE (L), PAN SEARED SCOTTISH SALMON (R)
THE EXPERIENCE highly recommends Tanzy as a destination spot for fine dining and a film at the new iPic in Westwood.
Congrats to Bryan Podgorski the executive chef for a very memorable dining experience. We all met up with him towards the end of the dinner.
