Daraja Academy – a boarding secondary school for Kenyan girls with top academic scores and exceptional leadership skills but no means to continue their education.
Daraja means “Bridge” in Swahili. Daraja Academy is building bridges to opportunity in Kenya.
There was a warm welcoming music band, Deborah’s son Salvador Santana.
After the music, Deborah introduced herself and talked about the school. We had a chance to view the award winning short documentary “Girls of Daraja” . (Please click on the image to view “Girls of Daraja” on YouTube.)
