Concern Foundation 41st Annual Block Party

 

Los Angeles, June 7, 2015– Concern Foundation presents its 41st Annual Block Party, An Evening in Paradise, on Saturday, July 11, 2015 on the backlot of Paramount Studios in Hollywood.

 

The 2014 Block Party raised over 1.8 million dollars, which provided critical funding for research projects throughout the world focused on immunology-based approaches to treating cancer.

The island themed event, which is expected to attract nearly 4,000 people and raise more than 1.5 million dollars, will be outfitted by a number of sponsors and vendors who bring gourmet foods, specialty cocktails, and interactive experiences. Some of the event activities will include 3D Cheeze photos, Brian Kramer digital photo studio, Island Ink airbrush tattoos, spa services provided by Marinello Schools of Beauty and a full gaming casino.

 

Also at the event will be the Experience the Best of L.A.® on Los Angeles magazine’s street featuring the Infiniti Lounge, special giveaways and treats from CLIF/LUNA Bar.

 

One of the most anticipated portions of the event is the live auction to be hosted by award-winning actress Jill Whelan from The Love Boat. The Block Party also boasts live musical entertainment on four stages, featuring Oskar Caraya & The Enclave and D’ City Sound with MC Dwayne, as well as a number of island themed performers such as Pan Dulce, Son De Cuba, Caro Pierotto and Marbella.

More than 70 food and beverage vendors showcase the best of their menus, from Los Angeles classics like Fogo de Chao, The Grill on the Alley, Lawry’s Catering, Pink’s Hot Dogs and Slater’s 50/50 to popular newcomers such as Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina, Spread PB and Tipple & Brine. A fabulous array of sweet treats will also be showcased, including Audrey’s Cookies, Cookie Good, Dandy Don’s Homemade Ice Cream, The Larder at Tavern, La Provence Patisserie & Café, Rita’s Italian Ice and more. Beverages will be flowing all evening provided by Asahi Beer, Adam Carolla’s Mangria, Fireman’s Brew, Pasquini Espresso Co., Sonoma Cider, Ventura Limoncello, Weaver’s Coffee and Tea andTito’s Handmade Vodka.

 

This year the Block Party will pay tribute to the more than 750 cancer researchers who have been funded by Concern in the last 47 years, all of whom have demonstrated their achievements as leaders committed to finding innovative treatments and ultimately, cures for cancer.
