The Experience Magazine recently stopped by the trendiest street in America; Abbot Kinney. Fala Bar is the hot new take out cafe that offers vegan, organic, sustainable, non-GMO food. All of the items on the menu are gluten free except the Pita.
The concept of Fala Bar is to make healthy, fresh vegetarian food that doesn’t suck. The owners, Mike Shab, and Andres Izquieta perfected healthy vegan food on Melrose Avenue with food guru Gina Ragnone. The location on Abbot Kinney just opened it’s doors in late November, 2015. The recipes are authentic Egyptian recipes. The menu features a number of falafal, great vegetarian burgers and tasty salads. We stopped by to sample the menu and we were blown away by what they’re offering.

Fala bar makes everything at their location. The falafel plate is full of vegan comfort food. We sampled a variety of falafel balls which were fried in grape seed oil. Our falafel plate came with original, spicy and sweet potato falafal. The baba ghanoush and tahini are made in house daily. The cucumber salad compliments the falafal. A delicious side salad was the brussels sprouts salad. Great flavor and a nice sauce.
The burgers seem to be very popular at Fala Bar. We tried the Kale burger and the Sweet Potato burger. I have to say, the Kale burger is the best vegetarian burger that I’ve had in Los Angeles. It has a great flavor and it’s juicy. The sweet potato burger is the most popular burger on the menu. Several people came in to order the sweet potato burger while we were dining. The sweet potato fries are just off the charts with flavor. The fries taste great with hummus as well.
Fala Bar proves that vegetarian food doesn’t have to be rabbit food. Fall bar makes non-GMO, vegan, farm to table food that is healthy and delicious. Stop by the new location on Abbot Kinney in Santa Monica.
