L.A. Times Food Bowl’s Night Market SEP. 23 – 25

L.A. Times Food Bowl’s Night Market will take over the Paramount Pictures Studios backlot for a three-day outdoor food and drink festival, featuring unlimited tastings from more than 40 restaurants per session, libations, live cooking demonstrations, DJs and more.

Join top chefs, pitmasters, burger barons and grilling experts serving up their best dishes side-by-side at “Smoked Soirée” Friday, Sept. 23. Cap it all off with smoke-infused cocktails and grilled desserts at this exclusive late-night celebration of all things grilled, smoked and barbequed.

Smoke & Soul BBQ with Pitmaster Kevin Bludso: Television personality, two-time Steve Harvey Hoodie Award Winner, and chef and owner of Bludso’s Bar & Que, Kevin Bludso will teach some BBQ skills from his new cookbook “Bludso’s BBQ Cookbook: A Family Affair in Smoke and Soul” in a cooking demo on the L.A. Times Food Stage. 

Welcome to the Beef with Matty & Coco: Canadian-born chef, restaurateur and YouTube star most recently known as co-producer and actor on FX’s breakout hit TV series “The Bear,” Matty Matheson will team up with the culinary producer of “The Bear,” Courtney Storer, in a live version of their “Welcome to the Beef” series, demonstrating a recipe inspired by the show.

Burger Battle, brought to you by New School Quality American: Join host Eric Greenspan (Mr Beast Burger, New School Quality American) and judge Alvin Cailan (Amboy: Quality Meats & Delicious Burgers) for  a burger-off featuring some of L.A.’s best burger aficionados.

For one night only, sample a smorgasbord of global cuisines for an experience that is quintessentially Los Angeles at “Saturday Night Flavor” on Sept. 24. Featuring the Dumpling Crawl curated by Times Food Columnist Jenn Harris with dumplings from CHD Mandu, Go Go Gyoza, Hui Tou Xiang, Lunasia Dim Sum House, Paradise Dynasty (VIP Only), Monta Factory and more.

The Gold Standard for Authentic Thai Cuisine with Jet Tila: A regular on the Food Network, chef Jet Tila will demonstrate recipes from his show-stopping collection of Thai dishes, sharing the world of his Thai heritage for today’s home cooks with recipes that are authentic, accessible and ultra-craveable, on the L.A. Times Food Stage.

Dumpling Showdown hosted by Jenn Harris: Times Food Columnist and host of the new video series “The Bucket List: Dumplings!,” Jenn Harris will explore the international world of dumplings.


[Sunday, Sept. 25, 2022: 2 – 5 p.m.]

In a nod to L.A.’s greatest weekend feasts, “Backlot Brunch” will bring together influences from westside surf to Hollywood glamor on the afternoon of Sept. 25.

Duff Goldman Does Dessert: Duff Goldman is best known for the hit Food Network TV series “Ace of Cakes,” where his team of pastry chefs and artists at Charm City Cakes create spectacular custom cakes. Duff will present a delicious baking demonstration on the L.A. Times Food Stage.
