The Experience Magazine just attended the midnight performance of STASH last night at the Abbey. It was a great performance. Steph and Amanda performed two songs from their latest album entitled, “Strip Me Bare.” Steph and Amanda had a lot of fun. It was great to see a Los Angeles duo take the stage and really enjoy the performance. Amanda has an incredible voice.
Steph is the platinum blonde DJ/rapper/songwriter who created the electro pop outfit STASH with Amanda on power vocals. Amanda has a great voice. She’s classically trained. She really belts it out. The midnight performance at the Abbey in West Hollywood was a performance of two songs. The first was Tear Me Down and the second song was Strip Me Bare. STASH really utilized the video monitors at the Abbey. Steph seems to be in full control of the production. They really seemed to be having a lot of fun.
Steph and Amanda recently sat down for an interview with the Experience Magazine. Their first single,”Tear Me Down” is on the Billboard Top 40. I can’t remember seeing two professional musicians enjoying themselves as much on stage.
The Experience : How long has STASH been together?
Steph : About 8 months now.
The Experience : What was STASH’s first single?
Steph : Tear Me Down
The Experience : Is that the song that is on the Billboard top 40?
Steph : Yeah. Its currently at 35!
The Experience : I saw the video for Tear Me Down. You have Star Wars characters in the video. Are you Star Wars fans?
Steph : Its just supposed to be people having fun. We filmed the video in Hollywood on Hollywood Boulevard. Theres all kinds of people dressed up and when we saw the Star Wars characters, we thought,”Oh we have to include these guys!” It was a lot of fun.”
The Experience : Could you tell me about your song entitled, “Red Cup! Pinky Up”
Amanda : We wanted to record the quitisential going out and having a party song. The general theme is blasting music and having a cocktail.
Steph : It’s about being happy and having fun. Its about going out and crashing a party up in the hills. Getting ready with your friends and then hanging out at a VIP event having fun.
The Experience : Steph, could you tell us about your baseball hat?
Steph : I love unique baseball hats. I started collecting one offs and now every body gives me baseball hats. I need a room for all of my baseball hats.
The Experience : What are some of your influences?
STASH : We like Hip Hop. Snoop Dog, Dr Dre, RUN DMC. Yin Yang twins…Eminem
The Experience: What kind of music is STASH?
Amanda : Its house music. Dance music. We like to go on stage and have a good time. Steph and I don’t have any drama. We get along really well. We like to go on stage and get everybody dancing.
