Stella Rosa Pizza Bar

Attention all pizza aficionados: Stella Rosa is the new pizza bar located on Main Street in Santa Monica.

It boasts a light and crunchy thin crust pizza ala Italy or New York. This is no ordinary pizza. They use locally milled flour which is handcrafted into a thin and fluffy crust. The sauce is made from crushed tomatoes and the toppings are farm fresh. The menu offers a small but tasty selection of salads and appetizers as well as two categories of Pizza: Red and White.

We had one of each: the Margarita and the Shaved Mushroom (gruyère, melted onions, black truffle, torn parsley, rosemary, thyme). It was hard to stop at two. I highly recommend the Italian Chopped Salad (romaine, pepperoni, roasted peppers, mozzarella, olives, italian vinaigrette) which was fresh and crunchy. We rounded off our appetizers with the Oven Roasted Beet Carpaccio (fresh burrata, toasted pistachio, aged balsamic, wild arugula) which was a perfect starter. There is a large bar located in the center of the restaurant which is very conducive to meeting other patrons. The kitchen is open as well and if you have any questions or comments the cooks are open for discussion. They have an excellent selection of Wine, Beer, and hand crafted Cocktails and are willing to tailor a drink just as you like it. This is an excellent meal for a very reasonable price. We will definitely be coming back soon.
