There’s an amazing organic, vegan cafe in Studio City and the Experience Magazine was there to check out the menu. This is one of the best vegan dining options in Los Angeles. It has a great, relaxing atmoshpehere, friendly staff and an amazing Los Angeles location. Owners Ron Russell and Rebecca Smith have made a vegan raw foods restaurant that’s out of this world. Ron is known for his dedication to being a vegetarian and working up a raw foods menu that is nutritious and delicious. Rebecca is a “foodie” who prepares vegan dishes that are so hard to resist. Together, they lead a team of people who prepare and present delicious plates of food.

When we sat down at our table, Ron stopped by to say hello and make a few recommendations. He was busy serving dinner to a full restaurant. Ron was in charge of orchestrating these wonderful vegan meals. Rebecca, too, was making sure that people were getting a great presentation. Rebecca wants people to take a bite and say ,”Wow!” Many people were coming in all night to do just that. Ron told us that we had to try a shake. He brought us a Sweet Kale Shake and it was just amazing. Made with kale, bananas, cashew and agave, the flavor was on point. Not too sweet, not too filling. I’ve never had a vegan shake like this. It’s truly unique.

The pizza we tried was the Supreme pizza. All the Sauces at Suncafe are made in-house from scratch everyday. This pizza is tasty, crispy and very filling. Ron used bell peppers, crimini mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and kalmata olives to make a 100% vegan pizza that could be a meal in itself. Let me also add that this is a gluten free pizza made with no milk or wheat. I recommend stopping by just to try a pizza. It is so good.

The main two dishes that just blew me away were the Lettuce Leaf Tacos and the Barbecue Cauliflower. I’m a big fan of cauliflower and this dish does not disappoint. The Lettuce Leaf Tacos are just way too good. When I tried the Lettuce Leaf Tacos, I had an “ah-ha” moment. The balance of the flavors is subtle. The lettuce is prepared properly. There’s a crunch. The food here is so satisfying. This is upper lever food craftsmanship. A total delight.
The Experience Magazine recommends Suncafe to anyone interested in good food. I think many of Los Angeles’ vegan and vegetarians would be over the moon for this restaurant. Anyone who is interested in good food will love this place. I’m not sure I can put into words how good the food is here. Not only does it taste amazing, but it leaves you full and satisfied for a long time.
