On Thursday, February 12th, 2014, Fig & Olive– THE ultimate Hollywood Hotspot on super exclusive Melrose Place which features gourmet cuisine from the French and Italian Rivieras – opened its doors once again to host Doris Bergman’s seventh annual Valentine Romance Style Lounge and Party.
This highly anticipated invitation-only event, hosted by MD Sun Skin Care and presented by Pura D’ Or, offered an incredible array of fashion for him and her, the finest in beauty, skin & hair care, stunning jewelry collections, chic chapeaus, fashion-forward timepieces, fabulous fragrances, comfy footwear, a gourmet luncheon prepared by Fig & Olive Executive Chef, Pascal Lorange, unique spirits, delectable sweets and much more!
As always, Bergman herself did a great job putting the event together. With her shock of bright reddish hair, she’s very personable, smart, savvy, spunky, enthusiastic, festive and has the most colorful personality in Los Angeles. I personally think she’s one of the grand dame’s of the gifting suites and her bubbly energy makes this great event even greater.
Gifts and services were provided by: Sue Wong, Single by Galina Sobolev, Kaya Di Koko, Guess, Twisted Silver, Whirl-A Style, Silvana K, Art Lewin Executive Clothiers, Samiah Fine Clothing, Hint Water, Fox 11, Color Wow, Handmade Hearts, Tequila Azul Imperial, Bling it! Hat Designs, Kelley West Microderm 360, My Saint My Hero, She Queen of Beer, disnapback.com, Nitro Cream, County of Los Angeles, Department of Children and Family Services, Perch, Tanus Designs, Spongelle, Model in a Bottle, Telic Sandals, IKS, Offenbacher Fudge, The Virgin Curve, and My Dog Nose It.
The empress of haute couture fashion, Sue Wong herself, attended the gifting suite and brought a real elegance to the event in her regal dress and jewelry. Upon entry on the red carpet, one sees her beautiful and feminine gowns holding court. A star of the fashion world, Sue had more paparazzi bulbs flash for her than all the celebs in the suite combined. And the celebs there were pretty prominent ones such as Chris Mac Donald, Deidre Hall, Patrika Darbo, Marilu Henner, Richard Greico, Rosa Blasi, Sofia Milos and many others.
As for what is on the horizon for Sue and her exquisite line, she said,”I’m excited about my big show in March for LA Fashion Week. The theme is ‘Myths and Goddesses,’ and any woman who wear my gowns exemplifies the mythic goddess and connects ultimately to the highest sense of the feminine divine.” I said she was the Empress and I meant it! Even in conversing with her gets a sense of her eloquent style and communication skills.
“Silva and her husband Nubar handcraft all the jewelry in this line locally…in downtown LA. They are members of the Green Business Bureau (www.GBB.org), said Gabriella, a model and sales rep for the line. “Inspired by her Middle Eastern culture and nature, Silva’s line is so special as she hand polishes every item.”
Next up was the popular Single line by Galina Sobolev. Galina’s designs on display were an eclectic assortment of dress in sequins, floral, lace, polka dots, and animal prints. They also had nice button**down shirts and stylish jumpsuits.
To say that Disnapback.com likes to use puns in their trendy line is an understatement. With cool baseball hats with sayings like Beverly Bills, Beverly Thrills, and Beverly Pills, it’s an fashion forward study of LA culture. “People love our products. They think ‘Lindsay Lohan’ and gravitate towards it,” jokes founder Simon.
Samiah Fine Collection is a beautiful line that evokes the Victoria era, pirate, steam punk, and opera-themed style.
Arbonne has a 28 day detox which “jumpstarts you to a happy, healthier life,” proudly declared Kara, a vivacious ***sales rep with the company.
Micro360 is the top new product of the Home Shopping Network,” said Cindy, an bubbly sales rep of this line. “We’re also the only product that has a swivel tip for easy application,” she added.
Gamila Smith, a popular celebrity stylist and probably one of the most fashionably cool ones I’ve met and I’ve met many, was with Shangrilaofluxury.com and the Silverlake shop, www.SpellboundSky.com
There was also a post-holiday gift drive for Wednesday’s Child presented by Dave Thomas. Attendees were told to bring a new, unwrapped gift, such as clothing, accessories, electronics, sporting equipment or a monetary donation.
