Settebelllo

Cuisine: Napoletana Pizza and regional Italian dishes

Concept: Traditional pizza al forno inspired by the Napoli region with California style

From the outside: Formal-yet-laid-back California decadence, chic lounge areas surround fire pits and tables, perfect for small or large groups and couples

On the inside: With a great view of the Marina’s sunset, well designed seating and tables of sleek, dark wood paired with polished metal framework and warm lighting, a great blend of new world style meets old world restaurant charm.

The Settebello standard: Unavera pizzeria Napoletana… with lots of stylish elbow-room.

Who’s eating: Local families, authentic pizza-addicts, couples old and young, stopping by for a pizza and finishing with an espresso, or start out with drinks then dive into several delicious courses for dinner.

The Eats: After simple but early starter of warm beet salad with creamy yogurt sauce and crushed pistachios, we went straight for the goods: mouthwatering classic MargheritaD.O.C. with imported Buffala Mozzarella, fresh leaves of basil, San Marzano tomatoes and extra virgin olive oil; the Filletto, a white pie with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese, fresh mozzarella and plump heirloom tomatoes, and finally the Capricciosa, a savory pizza loaded with tender artichoke hearts, roasted mushrooms, mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, fresh basil and Prosciutto. The Settobello crust is traditional thin, dense-yet-delicately chewy and swells up golden after its shoved into the flaming hot pizza oven. After several slices, we slowed down with the house’s Insalata Grande to cleanse the palate, followed by good old fashioned Tiramisu and Illy coffees: a cappuccino and espresso. I am still thinking about that Margherita pizza illuminating our table with its simple richness…

The Settebello appeal: If you’re craving continental comfort food, also known as pizza from Italy’s famous city of Napoli, give Settobello a try and bring your appetite and good friends for an delicious, elegantly authentic, on-trend way to enjoy lunch, an afternoon meal or evening’s supper. If you like cocktails and traditional niceties from the bar, Settebello’s premier barkeeper David Vine offers a steady selection and on-point recommendations.

What we loved about it: The superbly friendly service at both bar and table, the warm ambiance and magical view of the surrounding area in Marina del Rey rounded out the dinner experience at this Napoletana pizzeria.

Settebello has locations throughout the southwest including Salt Lake City, UT, Henderson and Las Vegas, NV, Farmington, UT, as well four Southern California locations: Pasadena, Oxnard, New Port and Marina del Rey.

Thank you, Settebello, for a wonderful evening.
