(EXPERIENCE MAGAZINE) — Santa Monica, CA — Monday, August 14th, 2023 — Located in Santa Monic on Montana and 15th Street, this luxurious cafe and market place just opened. Goods are imported directly from Italy and they have an amazing list of items. This newly opened hot spot is a lifestyle cafe. Everyone was dressed in amazing summer attire. There was plenty of wine sipping and people catching up with one another. We sat at a table on the sidewalk. Its a nice space and the place was packed. Pietro Brembilla and Brian Persico are the owners and creators of Sogno Toscano. The atmosphere is relaxed. They have live music on weekends.
Sogno Toscano literally means Tuscan Dream in Italian. I have been to Tuscany and this place is a “dream” of Tuscany. Very authentic. With all of the colors and styles. You gotta check it out.
Our host Camilla, from Bologna, is a lot of fun. She brought us Proseco and a tasty Mock-tail called Aranciata Rossa. So tasty. The Formaggi Experience cheese plate was delicious with several different cheeses. Tasty olives right from Italy and some crunchy Italian crackers to go with the cheese.
The salad they put together featured tomatoes and arugula tossed in a lemon infused olive oil. It was so light and delicious. We tried the tomato soup and the squash soup. Both were delicious.
Camilla put together a vegan sandwich that was out of this world. It just melts in your mouth. The vegan sandwich is outstanding. At the end of our meal, we tried the Shakerto it was a blended espresso drink and very tasty.
