dineL.A. Restaurant Week for Summer 2020: SEASIDE ON THE PIER

A lot of restaurants are trying to adjust to new city regulations. Fortunately the majority of the restaurants are participating in dineL.A. Week (September 1 – 18). We decided to dine at SEASIDE ON THE PIER in Santa Monica on Saturday, September 5th, Labor Day weekend.

Today was warmer so it was a perfect day to visit Santa Monica. As I thought, Santa Monica was crowded everywhere. The entrance to the pier was closed so I had to take a detour to get to the restaurant. I realized there were 2 entrances to the restaurant. If you’re meeting up with friends at the restaurant, it’s better to check with them to see which entrance you’ll meet at.

The restaurant was very busy at 5 pm, They had a patio near the entrance, 2nd floor patio and 3rd floor rooftop lounge. Our reserved seat was on the 3rd floor. (← the best area)

Rooftop Lounge

First of all, I had “Wow!” moment to look at the view from the 3rd floor. You can see Santa Monica Beach, the Sun, and a busy parking lot.

SEASIDE ON THE PIER has a variety of food menusSalad, Sandwiches, Burgers, Pizzas, Seafood, Kid’s Menu, Sodas, Lemonade, Iced Tea, Sparkling & Rose Wine, White & Red Wine, Draft Beer, Bottle Beer, Cocktails…. We chose dineL.A. menu – 1st course: Crab Cake Poppers  2nd course: Seafood Pasta.

Before the meal, Erwin ordered their specialty cocktail “Three Rum Colada” – Cruzan Guava & Mango rums and Malibu Coconut rum blended with cream of coconut & fresh pineapples, served in a pineapple. The server placed it on our table, I immediately grabbed my camera!! How fancy the presentation was! Erwin also loved the presentation and of course the taste! He highly recommended this cocktail.

We are served the 1st course Crab Cake Poppers: Pan-seared Colossal crab cake poppers served with a lemon caper remoulade. Another nice presentation meal. 2 cute crab cakes with remoulade at bottom and sliced lemon on top. The aroma and flavor of the lemon matched the taste of the crab very much. It was indeed delicious!

2nd course Seafood Pasta was served. Plenty of lobster, cod, shrimp and scallops in this pasta. Pasta texture was just right (al dente), alfredo was nice and creamy, and didn’t kill the seafood flavor.

Before I left the restaurant, I had to order the ice cream printed on the menu. (Good job on the menu design! Some people are attracted to the pictures of ice cream on the menu and order it! It is ME!)

Look at these pretty colors of ice cream! Don’t they look very delicious?

Pistachio (Green), Tropical Orange (Orange), and Seaside Berry (Blue)

They have various flavors: Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry, Butter Pecan, Bubble Gum, Butterscotch besides above. Ice Cream is served on the 1st floor, so you can order easily if you just want ice cream to cool down on a hot summer day!

Although affected by the Coronavirus, this restaurant has been successful with several patio dining areas. And “Order & Pick Up”. All the staff there had facial covers and were concerned about the safety of their customers.

This restaurant is really in a great location.  dineL.A. menu is super great deal! The Experience Magazine highly recommended, so make a reservation today and enjoy your meal, view and atmosphere.
