Los Angeles, CA – March 17, 2017 – New York City arrived in Hollywood, California last night, Thursday, March 16, 2017. The Tao Group with Beauty and Essex opened in the yet to debut Hollywood Dream Hotel. Katie Holmes, Cindy Crawford along with many Hollywood elites stopped by to check out the amazing space. This huge complex is a mix of Times Square NYC and downtown Hollywood. The spot lights were summoning people from all over.
The crowds were huge, the check in line was long. Two thousand revelers were expected to show up at this invite only event but the actual number was closer to 5,000. This was the Hollywood party of the year. Pizza was served in the New York style pizza joint all night long. LA restauranteur, Alvin Cailin (Eggslut), worked on the Luchini Pizzeria and bar. This has an urban vibe with a parquet floor and great second spaces.
The night club has a friendly staff and luxurious seats. Actor Robert Davi sipped a cocktail and relaxed in the posh nightclub. I spoke to Robert about his days with Frank Sinatra. Robert scrolled through his iPhone to show me a picture of him and Frank from 1979. Robert says he misses the days of stopping by Frank’s famous compound in Beverly Hills. He said that not many people know that Sinatra had a house in Chatsworth, California.
As the night went on, guests were treated to food and drinks in the stunningly beautiful Tao restaurant. The space has to been seen to be believed. There’s several giant buddha sculptures throughout the restaurant and nightclub. There are VIP areas and secret rooms. I heard about the “Pawn Shop” which is a secret door, but I never found it. I’ll have to explore the space when there aren’t thousands of people milling around.
The concert featured Busta Rhymes, NAS and DJ Khaled. It was an amazing concert with a great sound system.
Tao is sure to become Hollywood’s most legendary space. This will be THE place for parties, world class entertainment and A-List celebrity red carpets.
