Experience Magazine for DineLA 2023 at Paloma in Venice

(EXPERIENCE MAGAZINE)  Los Angeles, CA Newer Mediterannean-leaning restaurant in Venice, CA, Paloma, treats guests to a vast indoor, outdoor, or bar area, and a variety of delicious menu options, for breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Paloma took over recently the Zinque wine restaurant/bar space at the corner of Abbot Kinney and Venice. Paloma wisely opened up the space considerably, making it super inviting, as well as highly capable of hosting private events.

The Experience Magazine team sat down for dinner at Paloma for their Dine LA menu, starting with first courses consisting of a delicious and artfully presented shareable hummus plate with sliced veggies for dipping, along with the perfectly puffy grilled halloumi bread (maybe one of our favourite dishes of the night). We also enjoyed cocktails Lychee Martini and, of course, the Paloma, both of which were presented with edible flowers and fruit, and to note consist of sake-based alcohol, and did not disappoint. Our second course was equally tasty and continued with creative presentation, consisting of  moved on to their self-titled Penne Paloma pasta in tomato butter sauce, and grilled salmon with wasabi leaf garnishes, both of which were very well prepared. We shifted from cocktails to red wine, and Paloma’s helpful sommelier guided us a very nice Cab, the 2020 T. Edward Anahata, smooth and dry. Finally our dessert course was delectable mango ice cream and tiramisu.

All in all, Paloma succeeds on all fronts: great service, comfortable atmosphere, diverse menu options, affordability, creative meal presentation, and delicious food. Meal portions were more than enough for one person.

Their menu changes seasonally, so check with them for updates. We suggest for a quieter experience, consider dining outside on the deck and patio area. Whether its family, friends, date-night, or drinks, Paloma is a great new spot for everyone, and the location is ideal. Start your shopping at the west end  of Abbot Kinney and then finish at the east end of the stylish street drinking and dining at Paloma.
