The Roar Shack Reading series presented their first show of the year on January 11th at 826LA. They opened the new year with some amazing authors such as Dr. Pedram Navab, Jane Rosenberg LaForge, Jessica Ceballos, Toni Ann Johnson, and musical guest Eddie Moffett.

“It felt great to have the support of my family and friends. They got to hear parts of the book that they wouldn’t have known about as it’s not released yet,” said Dr. Navab. His reading of his debut novel, “Without Anesthesia,” was especially moving with the wonderful musical accompaniment of the popular indie band “English Riviera.”

Roar Shack is a wonderful collective of writers and artists, that brings some talented voices to the forefront of LA’s supportive literary community..Some of them come from fiction, some from memoir, some from poetry, as well as music and performance. 826LA is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to help teachers inspire their students to write.
