L.A.’S NEWEST CULTURAL COMPLEX

Recently opened, the Taglyan Arts and Cultural Complex offers a dazzling combination ofOld Worldopulence and cutting-edge audio- visual technology.  Located mere blocks fromHollywoodand Vine, this venue may be new to the event scene, but with its stately limestone façade, it looks like it’s been part of the neighborhood for a long time.  As soon as you enter the massive iron gates on a quiet side street, you feel like you’ve been taken back to a European villa.  Italian cypress, magnolia and olive trees, and vintage street lamps adorn the property.  Immediately to your right is the formal brick courtyard with a huge two tiered fountain, the type you would find in an Italian plaza.  A formal garden with white roses encircles the fountain, suggesting a romantic place for wedding ceremonies..  An upper patio overlooks the courtyard serves as an alternate location for cocktails or small events and has its own fountain with two small gardens and marble pillars.

Inside the building itself, you know that nothing is spared in workmanship or materials.  The dramatic Grand Foyer is a wonder to behold, accented by Italian marble floors and is just the right environment for couples who have just exchanged vows.  Natural light filters through stained glass windows in a surrounding high coffered ceiling.

But the main attraction is the Main Ballroom, with it’s green marble pillars and elaborate chandeliers underneath a five thousand square foot circular stained glass ceiling…all this illuminated by shifting colors of various hues.  The entire room has state-of-the-art audio visual equipment to emphasize the ambience of any type of event imaginable.

Even though there is competition from a number of venues around and about Hollywood, the unique aspects of it’s old world look and it’s superior design and opulence make it a must-see first before any decision is to be made for any future event.
